Terms of Service

By using NAVCOM AI ("the Bot") or the NAVCOM Portal, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). NAVCOM AI is a Discord bot and web portal designed to enhance Star Citizen guild servers with features like RSI handle verification, role management, and community tools. Please read these Terms carefully before using the Bot or Portal.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By adding NAVCOM AI to your Discord server, interacting with its commands, or using the NAVCOM Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Bot or Portal. We may update these Terms from time to time, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Use of the Bot and Portal

NAVCOM AI and the NAVCOM Portal are provided to assist with managing Star Citizen Discord servers and user accounts. You may use them to:

• Verify RSI handles with commands like /verify and /local_verify or through the Portal to ensure member authenticity.
• Manage roles with commands like /set_org_role and /set_rank_role to reflect Star Citizen org memberships and ranks.
• Access SENTRY database information using /citizen and /org for player and org lookups.
• Create dynamic voice channels with /add_dynamic_vc for seamless communication.
• Send welcome messages to new members using /set_welcome_message.
• Manage command permissions with commands like /grant_command_access and /deny_command_access.
• Link accounts (e.g., Discord) and configure server settings via the NAVCOM Portal at navcom.ai.

You agree to use the Bot and Portal in compliance with Discord’s Terms of Service (discord.com/terms) and Community Guidelines (discord.com/guidelines), as well as all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Prohibited Activities

You may not use NAVCOM AI or the Portal for any of the following:

• Unlawful Activities: Using the Bot or Portal to engage in or promote illegal activities.
• Abuse of Features: Attempting to exploit or misuse commands or Portal features (e.g., spamming /verify or submitting invalid RSI handles).
• Harassment: Using the Bot or Portal to harass, harm, or impersonate others, including falsifying RSI handle verifications.
• Interference: Attempting to reverse-engineer, hack, or interfere with the Bot’s or Portal’s operation or their integration with the SENTRY database.
• Unauthorized Access: Using the Bot or Portal to gain unauthorized access to Discord servers, channels, or user data.

Violation of these prohibitions may result in the suspension or termination of the Bot’s or Portal’s services for your server or account.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of NAVCOM AI or the Portal, you are responsible for:

• Accurate Information: Providing accurate RSI handles and email addresses for verification and account management.
• Server Management: Configuring the Bot appropriately (e.g., setting roles, welcome messages) to avoid unintended consequences, such as incorrect role assignments.
• Account Security: Keeping your NAVCOM Portal account credentials secure and reporting any unauthorized access promptly.
• Compliance: Ensuring your use of the Bot and Portal aligns with Discord’s policies and these Terms.

5. Limitation of Liability

NAVCOM AI and the NAVCOM Portal are provided "as is" and are currently in beta. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Bot or Portal, including but not limited to loss of data, server disruptions, or role mismanagement.
• We are not responsible for the accuracy of data provided by the SENTRY database, as it is a third-party service.
• We are not liable for any actions taken by users based on the Bot’s or Portal’s features, such as role assignments or verification statuses.

Use the Bot and Portal at your own risk. We recommend testing features in a controlled environment before full deployment.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate NAVCOM AI’s or the Portal’s services for your server or account at our discretion, including but not limited to:

• Violation of these Terms or Discord’s policies.
• Abuse of the Bot’s or Portal’s features or resources.
• Requests from Discord to remove the Bot from a server.

You may terminate use of NAVCOM AI at any time by removing the Bot from your server. You may terminate your Portal account by contacting support. Upon removal, all server-specific or account-specific data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Beta Status and Updates

NAVCOM AI and the NAVCOM Portal are in beta testing. Features may change, break, or be removed as we continue development. We will strive to provide updates and improvements, but we are not obligated to maintain specific features or functionality during this phase.

8. Intellectual Property

NAVCOM AI, the NAVCOM Portal, and their associated code, design, and documentation are the intellectual property of their developers. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without express permission. The integration with the SENTRY database is licensed for use solely through NAVCOM AI’s functionality.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in the United States, unless otherwise required by law.
